Description
HARDBACK – A near fine book tightly bound in the publisher’s illustrated boards. The boards are very clean indeed with no fading to the front and rear board, or to the spine. There is the odd very light indentation to the panels. Internally, the pages are very clean indeed with no toning, foxing or finger marks. Free of any previous owner names or inscriptions. Warmly inscribed by the author, also with a lovely original drawing both present to the front paste-down. The inscription reads – TOM / MANY THANKS AND MUCH / APPRECIATION FOR YOU MAKING / THE FROG – DANCE COME TO LIFE. / WITH BEST REGARDS AND GOOD WISHES / YOURS / QUENTIN / SEPT 27TH 1984. The Tom in question is Tom Maschler who was a publisher and managing director of Jonathan Cape for over thirty years and was the architect of the Booker prize for fiction. Illustrated throughout by Sir Quentin Blake. No dust wrapper, as issued by Cape in 1984. A superb association copy.
