Description
HARDBACK – A near fine book bound in the publisher’s red cloth boards with black lettering present to the spine. There is just a touch of pushing to the spine tips, aside from the pushing, the boards are very clean and fresh. Internally clean with a touch of foxing to the closed text blocks. No foxing or finger marks inset. Signed and inscribed by the author to the front end-paper. The inscription reads.MATTHEW – BEST WISHES / PATRICK / 1962 OCTOBER 21. Matthew Clarke was a lifelong friend of Sir Patrick’, his father having served in the RAF with Mr Moore. The family connection continued throughout the astronomer’s life, especially after the early death of Matthew Clarke’s parents. An excellent association copy. The dust wrapper is in near fine condition with no loss or tears and with bright colouring. Shallow rubbing to the base of the spine, with very light soiling to the rear panel.
