Description
HARDBACK – A near fine book bound in the publisher’s blue cloth boards that are very clean indeed with just a very small area of fading to the base of the spine. There is no mottling to the boards as is most common with this title. Internally, the inner text is lightly toned due to the paper stock used in the books publication, but with no signs of foxing or finger marks spots to the page block or the inner text. Free of any previous owner names or inscriptions. The dust wrapper is in very good condition with light chipping to the tip of the spine, also to the corners of the front and rear flap folds. There is a larger chip to the base of the spine that just encroaches into a portion of the limited printed lettering at the base, but not affecting any of the Hodder & Stoughton lettering above. A very clean dust wrapper for its age with absolutely no restoration performed, with lovely colouring to the spine with just the merest hint of fading to the red lettering. The dust wrapper has the very thin front and rear flaps denoting a correct first issue publication in 1944 with the publishers printed price of 6/-net present to the bottom corner of the front flap.
