HARDBACK – AN EX – LIBRARY COPY – A very good book bound in the publisher’s original laminated pictorial boards. There is light rubbing to the spine tips, also with mild rubbing to the corners of the front and rear boards. There are a few very mild indentations to the boards when shown in the light, but overall the boards are clean and fresh. Internally, the pages are clean with a CITY OF YORK WITHDRAWN stamp present to the pictorial front end-paper. Below this stamp is a price of 30P. A very lucky find for a previous owner! There is also a small area of pen indentation to the end-paper that is faint, but is more prevalent to the verso page. There is a small library stamp present to the title page, also with a small owner name to the top corner of the same page. The book is the correct UK first edition with the printing sequence : 1 3 5 7 9 8 6 4 2. to the copyrite page. Clean pictorial end- papers with the ISBN: 0333 71092. There are interesting signed ephemera from the author laid in. Illustrated in colour throughout. It is certainly the case, that hardback first editions of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone are offered for sale on the market more frequently than The Gruffalo.
