HARDBACKS – A very good/ near fine set of titles, each of the three books have been warmly inscribed by the author without dedication. They are – Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. A near fine book bound in the publisher’s black cloth boards with bright unfaded gilt lettering to the spine. Clean with no bumping to the cloth, with no pushing to the spine tips. Internally, there is minor toning to the closed page block, but with no foxing or finger marks to the inner text. The red top stain has faded a little, but is still present. Inscribed by the author to the title page. The inscription reads – WITH MY BEST WISHES – / JOHN LE CARRE. The dust wrapper is in very good or better condition with some fading to the spine, but with no loss or tears, with the publisher’s printed price of £ 2.95 net in UK present. The Honourable Schoolboy is a very good or better book bound in the publisher’s black cloth boards with bright unfaded gilt lettering to the spine. Clean with no bumping to the cloth, but with just a little pushing to the spine tips. Internally, the page blocks are clean with a little sporadic foxing present. The inner pages a clean with no foxing or finger marks inset. Inscribed by the author to the title page. The inscription reads – WITH MY BEST WISHES – / JOHN LE CARRE. The book is the variant edition with the white end papers. The dust wrapper is in near fine condition with a hint of rubbing to the extremities, but with no loss or tears and with lovely colouring. Clean with no bumping to the cloth, but with just a little pushing to the spine tips. Internally, the closed page blocks are clean with a little sporadic foxing present. The inner pages a clean with no foxing or finger marks inset. Inscribed by the author to the title page. The inscription reads – JOHN LE CARRE / AKA / DAVID CORNWELL. The dust wrapper is fine condition with no loss or tears and with lovely colouring. No fading to the red portion of the lower spine.
