HARDBACK – A near fine book, bound in the publishers red cloth boards with gilt lettering to the spine. The boards are in excellent condition, free of any bumping to the corners, or pushing to the spine tips, but with minuscule rubbing to the base of the front board. There are no previous owner names or Inscriptions inset. The book has been boldly inscribed by the author to the front end paper in blue crayon. The inscription reads – TO / BEN / LOVE / ROALD DAHL / 1980. The book has a lovely original drawing by the book’s illustrator of a Muggle-Wump monkey present to the half title page. Mr Blake has also added the following words – FOR BEN / BEST WISHES / QUENTIN BLAKE / 2010. dust wrapper is in near fine overall condition, free of any chips or tears. There is a hint of fading to the spine, but much less than what is normally encountered with this title. A very nice dust wrapper with the publisher’s printed price of £ 3.50net present to the front flap. A genuinely rare book to find with these attributes.
