Description

HARDBACK – A fine book, bound in the publishers black cloth boards with silver lettering present to the spine. Internally the inner text is very clean indeed with no foxing or finger marks inset. Free of any previous owner names or inscriptions. Very warmly inscribed by the author in year of publication to his daughter Frieda Hughes. The inscription reads FOR FRIEDA / WHO HAS PAYED FOR EVERY WORD / DOUBLE TREBLE QUADRUPLE QUINTRUPLE / WITHOUT KNOWING / WHERE IT WAS ALL GOING / LOVE / FROM DAD / OCTOBER 1970 There is also a drawing of a snake by the author directly underneath the inscription. The dust wrapper is in fine condition with no loss or tears, and presents as an exceedingly clean example. The publisher’s printed price of £1.00net is present to the front flap. A quite fantastic association copy. Frieda Hughes is the daughter and the eldest of two children from the marriage of the author Ted Hughes and the poet Sylvia Plath. 002077
