HARDBACK – A near fine book bound in the publishers red cloth boards that are exceptionally clean with absolutely no fading to the spine or to the gilt lettering. Internally the inner text is very clean indeed free of any foxing or finger marks. The red top-stain, so often found heavily faded, is very bright and fresh. There is a book society plate present to the front end-paper. The dust wrapper is in near fine condition with very shallow chipping to the spine tips, also to the corners of the front and rear flap folds. There is a tiny chip to the upper corner of the rear panel with a hint of toning to the spine. The publisher’s printed price of 10s.6d.net is present to the bottom corner of the front flap. A lovely example that was printed in conformity with the economic standards of this time on thin and poor quality paper.
