SOFTCOVER – A first edition that precedes the Chapman & Hall UK trade edition. ‘The Loved One was published by Cyril Connolly in the Horizon magazine. Vol. XVII No.98 in February 1948. The publisher’s original soft card wraps spine has some chipping to the spine, but is still tightly bound. Light creasing to the corners, but overall, a very good copy that has been warmly inscribed by Evelyn Waugh to the front panel.
