Description

HARDBACK – A near fine book bound in the publisher’s black cloth boards with un faded gilt lettering to the spine. There is a small indentation to the top centre of the front panel, also with some very minor rubbing to the top corner of the front board. Internally the page block and inner pages are very clean indeed with no toning or foxing present. The book is free of any previous owner names or inscriptions and has been boldly signed to the front end paper by the late Richard Kiel who played the arch villain Jaws in the movie. There is also a superb original illustration present to the half title page by the artist Bill Botton with his distinctive signature below. The artwork is of the highest quality. This piece of artwork is identical to the right portion of the original dust wrapper. The dust wrapper is in near fine condition with just a hint of rubbing to the extremities, but with no loss, tears or chipping. Boldly signed by Bill Botton to the base of the rear flap. The book may have been a remaindered copy as the publisher’s printed price has been neatly clipped, and has been repriced at £5.95 with a Jonathan Cape price sticker just above the clipped price. A very nice example.
