HARDBACK – A very good or better book bound in the publisher’s blue cloth boards with dark red lettering present to the spine. The boards are clean and without fading, but with two very small indentations to the front panel. Internally clean with a little toning to the closed text block. No foxing of finger marks inset. There is previous contemporary owner name and date to the paste down, with a small colonial edition stamp to the lower corner of the ffep. The dust wrapper is also in very good or better condition with very shallow chipping to the spine tips, also to the corners of the front and rear flap folds. There are a few small closed tears to the extremities with a couple of small scratches to the spine. A clean wrapper with the publisher’s printed price of 7s. 6d net present to the lower front flap. There is also a small colonial stamp present just above the publisher’s price. The book may have been destined to have been distributed to a Commonwealth country, but one will never know. Most importantly the book has not been price clipped and re-priced. A very nice example of a very scarce Greene title. Seller Inventory # 002459
