Description
HARDBACK – A near fine book bound in the publisher’s dark grey cloth boards with bright silver lettering present to the spine. Internally, there is very light foxing to the closed page block. The inner text is very clean indeed, free of any previous owner names or inscriptions. There is a book plate to the front paste down of the famous collector Peter Apap Bologna. The dust wrapper is also in near fine condition with lovely colouring, with no fading to the spine or to the front and rear panels. The dust wrapper has been publisher price clipped and re priced at 18s. Both book and dust wrapper are in lovely overall condition. This book was turned into a famous film in 1965 directed by Robert Aldrich and starring Richard Attenborough, James Steward, Hardy Kruger, Ernest Borgnine and Peter Finch, winning two Academy awards. The film was subsequently remade in 2004 starring Dennis Quaid.
