Description
HARDBACK – A very good or better book bound in the publisher’s orange boards with gilt lettering to the spine. There is toning to the page block, but with no signs of foxing to the inner text. Laid in is a letter from Len Deighton to a collector of yesteryear on Deighton’s headed paper and dated 26 Sept 91. “Dear Gordon, Thanks for your note. I’m delighted to sign the book plates for you. I’m pleased to hear that you liked Mamista. Yes I felt I wanted to use some new locations and characters. I plan long ahead so the Wall coming down didn’t do much to upset my planning. Thanks again. Sincerely, Len”. One of the book-plates referred to in the letter has been neatly attached to the title page: “For Gordon/ Len Deighton”. The dust wrapper is also in very good or better condition with a little rubbing to the extremities and with a little toning, but with no loss or tears. The publisher’s printed price of 15/- net is present to the front flap. A nice, clean example. Seller Inventory # 001953
