Bound in the publisher’s original pictorial cloth boards that are clean and fresh. The spine ends and corners are a little bumped and frayed with light rubbing. Internally with the frontispiece, illustrated title-page with nineteen other plates by C.E. Brock, Ten pages of publisher’s advertisements at the end, some corner creasing, occasional light foxing and finger marks throughout the text. Free of any previous owner names or inscriptions. The very scarce original dust wrapper is in near very good condition with fading to the spine, also to an area of the rear panel. There is chipping to the spine tips, that does not encroach into any of the lettering, also to the wrappers extremities, with two patches of surface tearing to the rear panel, also with a light tide-mark to the verso of the wrapper. Shallow loss to the corners of the front and rear flap folds. An exceptionally scarce dust wrapper. Considering its age an attractive example. The book was published in the same year as the first edition.
