PROOF DUST JACKET – (NO BOOK) – The dust-jacket for ‘Dr. No’ was designed by Pat Marriott. A fine example of the Proof dust jacket. The panels and spine are the same width as the published jacket, but the proof jacket is slightly taller with extremely wide un-trimmed flaps. The proof jacket corresponds to the first impression jacket, except that the ‘Greek urn’ circular device on the spine is bright white as opposed to off-white, and differing in the dimensions to the extent that it would not fit around a copy of the book unless the flaps were trimmed.
