UNCORRECTED PROOF COPY OF THE FIRST EDITION – With the publisher’s original light brown card covers with black printed titles to the upper cover, and the publisher’s UNCORRECTED stamp below. The book is in very good condition, with a three inch crease line present to the top edge of front card cover. Internally, the pages are toned with small staining to the rear of the page block. There is also a small splash mark to the bottom corner of the rear end paper. No previous owner names or inscriptions inset. The original proof dust wrapper is present and in very good condition. There is shallow chipping to the spine tips, with a little soiling to the spine. Light soiling to the corners of the front and rear flap folds with a couple of very small horizontal closed tears. An incredibly rare proof title, more so in the proof dust wrapper. The publisher’s printed price of 0/0 net is present to the lower corner of the front flap. This is the first proof copy of this title we have handled in over twenty years of buying and selling John Le Carre titles. The trade edition is scarce, this proof edition is a true rarity.
